American Mid Year Society "AMYS"

I've been a member of AMYS for years but haven't been to the web site lately.  So today I get an e-mail to come visit the site (and boy has it changed).

But it no longer recognizes me and I had to register as a new member.  (I even plugged in my e-mail address and asked it to send my password, but it didn't recognize my e-mail.   This is especially confusing as I was e-mailed to come visit the site.)

So, what happened to my original status and what gives?

Great question! 

What gives - Long story short for those of you who have been a long standing member of AMYS.  The internet has changed drastically over the past couple of years, it's faster, offers more info, has more connections etc.  The original AMYS site just became obsolete and I couldn't do a fraction of the things we can do with this site. 

In addition, the membership data on our old website could not be transfered  and incorporated into this site without compromising a lot of issues, including the privacy writes of our members. 

What's my status - Every member of our original website has to take a couple minutes to register on this new website.  It is much simplier to upload a picture or even an entire album of pictures of your Sting Ray.   The old site was really old and custom built.  This site will only get better and better with more participation.

So please take a moment, re-register, upload a picture of your Sting Ray in your profile and if you like click on album and upload as many pictures of your Sting Ray as you like.
